Elvia Arroyo-Ramirez is the Assistant University Archivist at UC Irvine where she is responsible for preserving the campus history. She oversees large digitization projects and investigates new workflows for the preservation and access of born-digital materials. She is a contributor to the “Levels of Born-Digital Access” (DLF Born-Digital Access Working Group) and is a guest editor to the upcoming special issue on “Radical Empathy in Archival Practice” in the Journal for Critical Library and Information Science (JCLIS). She has previously worked at Princeton University, University of Pittsburgh, and the Center for the Study of Political Graphics and holds degrees from the University of Pittsburgh (MLIS) and UCLA (BA, Art History).
