Shelly Black (she/her) is the Digital Archivist at North Carolina State University Libraries. She is responsible for processing and describing born-digital collections, and developing workflows for their preservation and access. She has contributed to BitCurator documentation and has been a Users Forum and Community Call presenter. She was also a member of a working group on virtual reading rooms as a part of the IMLS supported “Lighting the Way” project. Most recently, she served as chair of the SAA Archivists & Archives of Color committee and is participating in the IMLS funded “Building Radical Empathy in Archives and Special Collections” forum. She holds a MLIS from the University of Arizona.
