“The Ethics of Born-Digital Collecting” Roundtable: Recording Now Available

BitCurator Consortium | BitCurator Consortium

In the Spring and Fall of 2019, the BitCurator Consortium (BCC) will facilitate a series of online roundtable discussions on topics of interest for born-digital cultural heritage communities.

Our first round-table took place on March 22 and explored “The Ethics of Born-Digital Collecting.” We were fortunate to welcome Alexandra Dolan-Mescal (Documenting the Now), Yvonne Ng (Witness.org), Jessica Venlet (UNC Chapel Hill), and Lauren Work (University of Virginia) who discussed their experiences and perspectives acquiring, preserving, and facilitating access to sensitive, community-driven born-digital content.

Today, we’re delighted to announce that the recording of the roundtable is now freely available on the BitCurator Consortium website!

We’re also making available a PDF version of the presenter slides (including notes) and a “Living Resources” list to support archivists and documentarians doing this work.
