BCC Executive Council Duties

The BitCurator Consortium Executive Council provides guidance on critical community decisions, maintains governance documentation and processes, and works in collaboration with BCC Committees to ensure that Consortium activities make progress towards their goals.

Current Council members recommend setting aside 5 hours or less per month for BCC activities inclusive of the monthly one-hour meeting. Most projects occur in collaboration with other BCC committees and groups. EC members are welcome to participate in or lead additional projects that may extend their commitment beyond the suggested 5 hours per month.

The Council is currently building financial acumen and thinking about what’s next for the BCC, especially as we set strategic goals for the BCC  and engage in n projects that align with our commitments to inclusivity, including considering models for continuing software development support.

BCC Executive Council Terms and Elections

The Executive Council is made up of seven elected representatives from among the membership, including a President and a President-Elect. The Community Facilitator also serves on the Council as an ex-officio, non-voting member. Executive Council members typically serve for two-year terms. If you have questions about the role, time commitment, scope of work, or anything related to serving on the Executive Council, feel free to email a member of the Council.

You can see the current EC roster here. Terms are ending for Kelly Bolding, Elvia Arroyo-Ramírez, [Matthew] Farrell, and EC President Lauren Work. Second year members continuing to serve through 2022-2023 include George Apodaca, Joe Carrano, and incoming President Alice Prael.

Thank you for your participation!
