In the past, the “Intro to Digital Forensics” class has provided a brief introduction to digital forensics and why it might be useful in a cultural heritage setting. This in-person class provided a live demo of BitCurator functionality by the facilitators, and a hands-on set of activities using sample disk images and set tasks” (2017, 2018 BUF proposals). This year as BUF will be held virtually, the Documentation and Training committee is interested in providing an introductory workshop discussing digital forensics concepts while highlighting some of the BC Tools that allow us to accomplish this work. The Wiki’s high-level workflow documented in the Bitcurator Walkthrough will serve as a guide for our presentation. If a live demonstration is not feasible because of bandwidth, we would like to share either pre-recorded video, clips from the screencasts, or screenshots of the environment similar to those found on the BitCurator Wiki.
