Call for Volunteers: BitCurator Consortium Groups

The BitCurator Consortium is recruiting volunteers for all groups. Recruitment is open indefinitely. Anyone may express interest by filling out this form.

Membership Committee

This standing committee oversees work related to maintaining, engaging, and growing the member base. You can read more of the committee charge here. The time commitment is estimated to be around 2-3 hours monthly on average.

Programming Committee

This standing committee plans and organizes the annual BitCurator Users Forum. The Programing Committee organizes calls for proposals, evaluates submissions, liaises with forum speakers, and solicits sponsors. You can read more of the committee charge here. The time commitment can ebb and flow with the planning cycle between 3-10 hours monthly on average.

Documentation and Training Committee

This standing committee maintains the BitCurator Environment documentation wiki and  coordinates training opportunities accessible to users of all skill levels. You can read more of the committee charge here. The time commitment is estimated to be around 2-3 hours monthly on average.

Software Development Committee

(Re-)Launching in November 2021, this standing committee coordinates community development of the BitCurator software. You can read more of the committee charge here. The time commitment is estimated to be around 2-3 hours monthly on average.

Python Study Groups (Pilot project)

In this burgeoning community, self-starting groups of 3-10 people coordinate their own Python Study Group with coordination and curriculum resources provided by the group’s coordinators. Please fill out the form if interested and we will let you know when there is an opening for a group or the next round of groups is forming. You can read more about the groups here. The time commitment varies greatly depending on the individual study group’s agreed upon schedule and activities.
